ZENTRUM
01.12.22 - 08.02.23
ZENTRUM highlights models of self-organization, decentralized networks and collective work. As a contact zone of different art spaces, the exhibition offers a space to jointly develop approaches for solidary structures and the sharing of resources. How can these shared spaces be maintained and organized? How can collective structures be preserved from institutional fixation?
The exhibition space acts as a hub to other exhibitions taking place online and in other art spaces. ZENTRUM thus articulates a network of relationships with new alliances and collaborations.
In the context of the exhibition, the digital platform FAR (Foundation for Artistic Relations) was created in collaboration with Kunstraum Rosa Stern/Munich and Fabian Hampel as a digital exhibition space and tool for networking. IDEAL enters into an exchange of content with the collective of the Kunstverein Leipzig. Connected to the content of the current exhibitions of both spaces, a publication will be created. The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of events.
IDEAL Forum / 19.05.21 - 19.10.22
How can forms of relationships in the art field and conditions of collectivity be thought differently out of the crisis? What are the infrastructural conditions and limitations of an assembly, a community and its discourses?
In an ongoing process, the spatial setting of the exhibition IDEAL FORUM is activated, transformed, appropriated and reinterpreted in several episodes by different artists and cooperating art spaces. An experimental field between autonomy and interdependence emerges, in which hierarchies dissolve, authorships overlap, and the infrastructure of the "forum" is continuously unlearned, rehearsed, discarded, and renegotiated in a collaborative process. In the context of the self-organized art space - as platform and para-institution - the exhibition serves as a model for investigations into dominant aspects of platform design and possible forms of a subversive, activist infrastructure.
THE STORIES WE INHABIT
