15.10. 18.30 Uhr: Eröffnung und Leseperformance kleines licht von Hanako Emden 

Im Rahmen der Projektreihe DIALOG laden wir euch herzlich zur Eröffnung von Anna Sophie Gumz’ Arbeit off-stage ein. Ab 18:30 Uhr findet vor dem Billboard beim IDEAL außerdem anlässlich die Leseperformance kleines licht von Hanako Emden statt. 
Die Fotoserie off-stage porträtiert die Rückseiten von Wahlplakat-Displays. Wie die Jahresringe eines Baumes, erzählen verblichene Maserungen, Kratzspuren und Graffiti die übersehenen Geschichten der Bildträger, die für gewöhnlich als ahnungslose Infrastrukturen gelesen werden. Rückübertragen in den Außenraum der Straße auf Großplakatflächen, greifen die Bilder den öffentlichen Raum als narrative Bühne wieder auf. Neben dem Billboard vor dem IDEAL werden außerdem die Plakatwände des MdbK auf der Spinnerei (gegenüber Boesner) und beim Ortfloff (Jahnallee 73) bespielt.
kleines licht setzt sich mit den Erinnerungen und dem Verlust vermeintlicher Kollektivität auseinander. Geschrieben auf Einladung und in Korrespondenz zu der Arbeit off-stage von Anna Sophie Gumz, versucht die audiovisuelle Lesung, einen Traum im gemeinsamen Scheitern zu erkennen.

Die 90er-Jahre in der von der Wende geprägten Hauptstadt und das Millennium politisieren heute als historische und geografische Achsen die künstlerische Perspektive von Anna Sophie Gumz (*1993 in Berlin). Sie studierte Bildende Kunst an der HGB Leipzig und der ZHdK. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Leipzig und Berlin.

Hanako Emden (*1996) ist Künstlerin und Grafikerin. Sie schreibt, lehrt und veröffentlicht zu Sprache und Begehren. Zusammen mit Sophie Florian bildet sie das Künstlerinnen-Duo Florian∞Emden. Sie lebt in Berlin.
Das Projekt wird von Clara Hofmann und Gregor Peschko kuratiert.

As part of the DIALOG project series, we warmly invite you to the opening of Anna Sophie Gumz’s off-stage. From 6:30 pm, Hanako Emden will also present her reading performance kleines licht in front of the billboard at IDEAL.
The photographic series off-stage portrays the backs of election poster displays. Like the rings of a tree, faded textures, scratches and graffiti reveal the overlooked histories of these image carriers, which are usually perceived as anonymous infrastructures. Transferred back into the public space of the street and onto large-scale billboards, the images reclaim public space as a narrative stage. In addition to the billboard in front of IDEAL, the work will also be presented on billboards at the Spinnerei and at Ortloff.
kleines licht explores memories and the loss of an imagined sense of collectivity. Written at the invitation of and in correspondence with Anna Sophie Gumz’s off-stage, the audiovisual reading seeks to recognize a dream within a shared experience of failure.

The 1990s in Berlin, a city shaped by reunification, and the turn of the millennium today form historical and geographical axes within the artistic perspective of Anna Sophie Gumz (*1993, Berlin). She studied Fine Art at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig (HGB) and Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). She lives and works in Leipzig and Berlin.

Hanako Emden (*1996) is an artist and graphic designer. She writes, teaches and publishes on language and desire. Together with Sophie Florian, she is part of the artist duo Florian∞Emden. She lives in Berlin.
