/// Der für die Erstürmung errichtete dreistöckige Bau wird von einer massiven Metallkonstruktion getragen, der große Planen mit aufgedruckten Fassadenteilen vorgehängt sind. Einschusslöcher, blinde Fenster und die originalgetreue Inschrift Dem Deutschen Volke sind detailliert zu erkennen. Mit 10.000 Zuschauer*innen auf Tribünen vor Ort und einer TV-Liveübertragung wird die Schlüsselszene des russischen Kriegsgedenkens als mediales Großereignis reinszeniert.
/// Am Abend des 30. April 1945 nimmt die Rote Armee den Reichstag ein, Soldaten hissen die Rote Fahne auf dem Gebäude. Zwei Tage nach der Erstürmung wird die Szene für ein offizielles Foto nochmals wiederholt.
Insgesamt werden am zerstörten Reichstag rund 40 Flaggen angebracht. Die Fahne mit der Nummer 5 erklärt man schließlich zum offiziellen Siegesbanner.
/// Für die Besucher*innen der Modellstadt steht der Reichstag alle 2 Minuten in Flammen.
Mit REKAPITULIEREN seziert Juliane Jaschnow aktuelle und historische Schichtungen des ikonischen Symbols des Reichstags. Die Narrative dieses Ortes werden in der Ausstellung dekonstruiert und das Erinnerungskondensat als hybride mediale Kulisse lesbar.
Die Ausstellung wird durch Förderung des Kulturamtes Leipzig ermöglicht.

/// The three-storey building erected for the storming is supported by a massive metal construction with large canvases with parts of the facade printed on them. Bullet holes, blind windows and the original inscription "Dem Deutschen Volke" (To The German People) can be seen. With 10,000 spectators in stands on site and a live TV broadcast, the key scene of Russian war commemoration is restaged as a major media event.
/// On the evening of 30 April 1945, the Red Army captures the Reichstag, soldiers hoist the Red Flag on the building. On the following days, the scene is repeated again for photography and film recordings. A total of around 40 flags are placed on the destroyed Reichstag. Flag no. 5 is finally declared the official victory banner.

With REKAPITULIEREN Juliane Jaschnow dissects current and historical layers of the iconic symbol of the Reichstag. The narratives of this place are deconstructed in the exhibition and its condensed memory condensate Reichstag becomes legible as a hybrid media setting.

Juliane Jaschnow is a filmmaker and artist. Her artistic work focuses on collective narratives and memory processes, their identity-creating dimension and the role of image-political practices. She studied visual arts specializing in expanded cinema and photography at the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts. Juliane Jaschnow is a graduate of the Professional Media Master Class (PMMC) for artistic documentary film and the PMMC Lab at the werkleitz Center for Media Arts. She participated in the Berlinale Talents and is a member of the Filmic Initiative Leipzig FILZ. Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions and at international film and media art festivals, including transmediale, steirischer herbst, DOK Leipzig, International Short Film Festival Hamburg, Moscow Experimental Film Festival, Les Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, GRASSI Museum Leipzig, NRW-Forum Düsseldorf and Deichtorhallen Hamburg.
